your story
You don’t need to compare your life to mine
It will be painful to try to match to something
That you don’t have any control of
We all have our own “achievements”
Maybe the term is too big; it’s scary
You can call it “pleasant things”
It can be a moment where you don’t
Try too hard
Aware too much
Alert too high
Afraid to ask
Feel too anxious
Hurt so deep
You don’t need to be anyone you wish for
Because you may not like your past version
Who made the wish
Human is not fair
Humanity may be rare
People’s expectation is absurd
It is not a shame to survive
We may never pass that phase
Never compare your story to others
We build one of our own
Collecting milestones
Put them together
Sometimes crumble midway
But we won’t start from nothing
We will have more confidence
And more anticipation
You don’t need to compare your pain to mine
No one wants to be the winner
Your pain is not your gain
I wish you never have to fight
Or beat yourself up
To be who you are
You don’t need to compare your broken bones
If someone force you, show them your poems
Let them know how hard you try to heal
Because writing make you vulnerable
You may open your wounds from time to time
Until they are not “wounds” anymore
Or you start calling them with different names
Isn’t it exhaustive to be a whole?
Especially when you don’t know how
There’s no finish line with ribbon
Even death can be a new beginning
So you need to keep going
Never sorry to be in your skin
Because acceptance is everyone journey
But we often don’t see it that way
People’s respect is luxury, sadly
It shouldn’t be expensive
We shouldn’t earn it
Because it’s what make us a human
